Buttercream Brushstroke Cake
What's the one thing that you do to relax and relieve stress? Yoga? A walk in the park? Piping would be my answer to that. Sometimes I just get so lost into it, I start believing I could pipe for the rest of my life. I love it so much, that sometimes I catch myself piping a Bead Border on my toothbrush with toothpaste or a Shell Border on a cracker with those cans of aerosol cheese. #cakedesignerproblems 😝
Here's an updated version of a classic Buttercream flower cake. I've been into unconventional color schemes lately and pushing my personal boundaries on what I think works. Prior to this, I would never pair a bold royal blue with pastels and neon canary yellows. It makes me happy when it just all works out. I'm kind of in this brushstroke phase that I can't get out of. I'm just obsessed with the texture, layers, movement and statement it gives to the overall cake. I think it's what brings this classic style just a notch up to 2017.
