FAQ'S

  • What can Edible Paint be used on?

  • Fondant

  • Gum Paste

  • Royal Icing

  • Macarons

  • Pastillage

  • American Buttercream (crusted)

  • Sugar Cookies

  • ...and much more!

It is not intended to be used on Modeling Chocolate, Marzipan and Cocoa Butter based Fondant.  It may be used, but can bead, streak and may need more than 1 coat, depending on the look you'd like to achieve.

It can also be used on buttercream, but it has to be a "crusting buttercream," like American Buttercream.  It must be crusted and chilled, but thawed out to remove condensation when taken out of the fridge.  Avoid using Italian or Swiss buttercream.

Just like any art media, it all works in different ways, so we encourage you to have fun with the paints and experiment away!

  • Can the paints be mixed to make different colors?

Absolutely!  We encourage you to mix-away and let your creativity ensue!  Mixing will not alter the consistency of the paint.

  • Can you thin it out to create a watercolor effect?

Yas!  You can thin it out with a clear, alcoholic spirit like vodka or gin.  Avoid using water for best result.

  • Can you cover an entire Fondant-covered cake with this paint?

You sure can!  You can paint the Sistine Chapel on a cake if you wanted to!  We encourage you to paint your heart out, just like Michelangelo!

  • What is the shelf life on these paints?

The shelf life is 1 year from the manufacturing date.

  • Why is shipping kind of pricey?

Since our dropper bottles are made out of quality glass, the weight of the package is a bit on the heavy side, we also like to make sure the packaging is secure, so that it doesn't mess up your beautiful paints, so we choose a more premium shipping option.  Plus, we want it to get to you much faster!  We suggest taking advantage of the flat rate, and adding more items to your cart, so you can get more bang for your buck.

We're also a very small business that can't really compete with corporate giants that offer free shipping: were workin' on it though!  Support us and it might happen someday! ::crosses fingers::

Thanks so much for understanding and your support!

  • Why is it in a dropper bottle and not a squeeze bottle?

Squeeze bottles with a flip cap lid can get gunky and messy on the top and they're a hassle to keep cleaning up.  Think of a Ketchup bottle that always has that crusty Ketchup at the top and it's super annoying when the flip cap breaks off as well.  That's why we have a convenient drop bottle with a twist cap.  The dropper bottle allows you to drop the perfect amount into your painting palette without having the risk of it spilling out and using too much.

The dropper can stop it's suction ability due the acrylic like texture, but you can always thin it out with some vodka or lemon extract to get every last drop.  Don't be afraid to pour as well and mix on a paint palette.

  • Are they gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free?

They sure are!  All of our paints are gluten-free, dairy free and nut-free.

  • Do your paints have a flavor?

Our paints have no extra flavoring added.   We wanted to make sure it has a neutral taste.  It is not advisable to consume the paint liquid straight from the bottle.  The flavor becomes neutral once it dries.
